Educated by Tara Westover

Hey Bookies!!
Happy New Month!!

It’s back to school season and our book pick for this month is the international bestseller by Tara Westover  “Educated”.

Educated is a memoir that talks about Tara’s life growing up in a strict Mormon household with a father that didn’t believe in Western education, western medicine and with a deaply seated mistrust of the government.
In this memoir, Tara Westover tells us how she was able to, despite all of these, self school herself and gain admission to a university college by age 17 and eventually go on to have her Masters degree from Cambridge and then her PHD.

Educated is a story of courage, resilience and a person’s ability to rise through difficulties and challenges despite the circumstances that surround them.

One of my favourite quotes from the book is
“You can love someone and still choose to say goodbye to them,” she says now. “You can miss a person every day, and still be glad that they are no longer in your life.”

I hope you enjoy reading it! And share your thoughts with me in the comment section. I love to hear them.
