Hey book lovers!!

Welcome to July!!

Summer season is in full gear and our book for this month is a really great summer read.

Americanah by Chimamanda Adichie is a beautiful love story. You know the one where 2 people are made for each other, and then something happens and they get separated, but eventually they find their way back to each other??…yeah, that kind of love story.

But even more than love, Americanah covers so many important themes. It touches on race and racism, culture, identity, religion, immigration, assimilatuon, growth and ‘adulting’…just to name a few.

Everyone I know that has read it, loved it! I mean, even Obama had it on his yearly favourite books list!

The protagonist Ifemelu is also really dear to my heart. Reading it, I could relate with a lot of her struggles and thought processes, and that makes the book even more dear to my heart.

I could go on and on about Americanah but I think you have to read it yourself to get the gist??
